Is After Death Communication Actually Real?
Since your mom or dad died have you started noticing that strange things keep happening? Are they just a coincidence or a sign of something more? If the signs keep repeating, do you sometimes think your deceased parent is trying to send you a message? Is after death communication actually real?
For months after my mom died I instinctively reached for my phone to call her, only to pull back suddenly like I was burned when I remembered that she had died. I wanted so badly to call her, to have just five more minutes of new conversation, but our time together was finite. It is over now. There will be no new conversation between us ever. I saved one voicemail of her singing happy birthday to my daughter. I play it every year with my eyes closed, pretending it is a new song.
If only I could reach her. Just once more! If only she could contact me to let me know she’s okay, that she’s at peace, or that she’s not feeling pain anymore. How I would love to hear that she is with me or near me and can see her grandchildren grow. If only.
Many people believe their deceased loved ones do and can communicate after they pass away, that they remain near us unseen and watching over our lives.
Other people have randomly found playing cards on the sidewalk, the street, or in a parking lot. Some people grieving a loss begin finding shiny pennies or dimes in their path. Perhaps you suddenly begin to smell the scent of your mother’s perfume or your father’s cigar with no logical explanation.
I’ve heard stories from people who have lost a parent say that after the death they began seeing cardinals in the yard. Many people believe that certain creatures like birds and butterflies are messengers from the spirit world or the afterlife or heaven or whatever realm you believe exists for our loved ones after they pass on.
My mom used to often sing Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da by the Beatles in our kitchen when I was a child. This song (as far as I know) isn’t quite considered to be a massive hit for the band like many of their other tracks were, and so it isn’t often played. For several months after she died that song randomly popped up on my music streaming service, and I wondered if maybe She was sending me a smile and a little memory to remind me that life goes on.
Was that actually a new communication from her? Is our conversation possibly not over? Or maybe it was just a coincidence. A strange coincidence that happened several times.
My mom had some thing of an old world sensibilities surrounding signs and superstitions. She believes that almost anything is possible. and so I can’t fully believe that these little signs and symbols are random coincidences that mean nothing.
The strongest message that I get is through numbers. My mom usually went all out for my birthday. August 28. 08/28. It was our day and we loved to celebrate it together.
She’s been gone for over four years now, and I still regularly see the numbers 0828 or 828 popping up in life around me. When I randomly decide to check the time, it is 8:28 PM. A YouTube video I click has a duration of 8 minutes and 28 seconds. I’m not sure if I simply notice it more, or if maybe these repeating numbers are a little hello wave from my mom. I would like to think it’s a sign from her. And so I do! When I am stressed in traffic and stop at a street corner, only to look up and see that the business address in front of me is number 828, I take a deep breath and close my eyes. Hey Momma, I say out loud. I miss you.

My dad sends birds to me. My mom in music and the #7 in multiples. It’s the most comforting thing
